Discover our new Coating Technology TACCOTA®
The Nippon Kornmeyer Carbon Group (NKCG) in collaboration with Fraunhofer IISB presents their game-changing solution for the semiconductor sector: their innovative and patented tantalum carbide (TaC) coating technology TACCOTA®.
It’s the introduction of protective layers, which tackle the degradation of graphite parts and reduce the overall consumption of graphite consumables. Given the general lead times and cost for graphite components, it’s a most welcome introduction, driven by the booming semiconductor sector.
TACCOTA® is the solution to the great demand of graphite which contributes significantly to the manufacturing costs of SiC crystals and epitaxial layers.
TACCOTA® coatings provide various benefits like tremendous mechanical stability, thanks to interlocking with the underlying graphite, and incredible flexibility when it comes to coating components of different sizes and geometries.
Unlike CVD deposition of TaC, partial coating and component refurbishment are also possible. Moreover, our technology is environmentally friendly, easy to industrialize, and free from conflicting materials.
