Business start-up

KOGO-Mechanik was founded by Winfried Kornmeyer with an initial workshop in which several CNC machines were operated.

1969

Development and production

Joint development of a graphite-heated vacuum furnace – the first of its kind – with Schmetz GmbH, a leading manufacturer of vacuum furnaces at that time.

1973

Start of series production

Start of the production of standardized heating chambers with hard felt and CFC lining.

1982

Automobile production

First designer and manufacturer of a directly heated carbon composite charging rack for vacuum brazing of heat exchangers in an automotive production line.

1983

Solar production

Production of serial parts for production plants for solar silicon and solar cells.

1995

Opening of the new factory in Windhagen, Germany.

Construction of the current site in Windhagen, including in-house cleaning facilities.

2009

Business expansion for the next generation

The Kornmeyer Carbon Group was founded as a foundation for future development. Winfried Kornmeyer handed over the reins to Torsten Kornmeyer.

2011

Production expansion

Construction of a new machining center and warehouse.

2012

New cleaning and coating center

Launch of the new cleaning and coating center in Windhagen (CVI & CVD processes).

2016

Renaming of the company

Establishment of a joint venture between Nippon Carbon Co., Ltd. in Japan and the Kornmeyer Carbon Group in Germany, resulting in Nippon Kornmeyer Carbon Group GmbH.

2019

USMCA extension

Nippon Kornmeyer is opening an office and warehouse in Cleveland, Ohio (USA).

2020

Market expansion

Opening of Nippon Kornmeyer offices in the French region of Bordeaux to serve the wider EU market.
