Since 1968, the Kornmeyer family has been supplying and innovating the carbon-based materials market. Today, Nippon Kornmeyer Carbon Group (NKCG) is a company jointly operated by the shareholders of Kornmeyer Carbon-Group (Germany) and Nippon Carbon Co. Ltd. (Japan), a Tokyo stock exchange listed carbon manufacturer.

NKCG specializes in design, simulation, manufacturing, coating, purification and technical support of carbon- and ceramic-based materials for companies in Europe, Middle-East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Key industries served cover the segments: industrial, metals, heat treatment, automotive, solar (photovoltaic), semiconductor and aerospace.

NKCG produces components made of graphite, CFC and carbon-based insulating materials in any shape, size and complexity. We manufacture single-parts, assemblies, large projects or serial production. In addition to the machining, all components can be purified and coated (e.g. SiC and PyC).

Production steps are implemented and monitored to the highest standards of the respective industry sectors.

NKCG is proactively researching and exploring new applications of exisiting processes and promoting new technologies. The access to the R&D center of Nippon Carbon Group in Japan supports our local engineering team to act fully integrated in the application and product improvement process.

Company Founding

Foundation of KOGO mechanics by Winfried Kornmeyer, with first workshop operating several CNC machines.

Developing and Manufacturing

Jointly developed graphite heated vacuum furnace, the first of its kind, with Schmetz GmbH, one of the leading manufacturer of vacuum furnaces at the time.

1973

Starting Mass Production

Start of manufacturing of standardized heating chambers with hard felt and CFC linings.

Automotive Production

First designer and manufacturer of carbon-composite-based direct-heated charging rack for the vacuum brazing of heat exchangers in an automotive production line.

Solar Production

Production of standardized parts for manufacturing equipment of solar silicon and solar cells.

Opening of new factory
in Windhagen, Germany

Construction of the present location in Windhagen,
including in-house purification facilities.

Business expansion for next generation

Foundation of Kornmeyer Carbon Group as the basis for future development, with Winfried Kornmeyer handing reins to Torsten Kornmeyer.
